YouTube India restricts video streaming to 480p for mobile users
Hello Internet people, YouTube India now reduced the maximum streaming quality for content in Android to just 480p or SD(Statdard Defination) as the country has now gone into full lock-down.
Due to the corona virus or COVID-19, many country around the world are now putting citizens on lockdown to help prevent the spread of the viruse. Due to lockdown billions of people spending more time on surfing, streaming, downloading and browsing.
This change come shortly after YouTube and other companies like Hotstar and Netflix decided to set limit to video streaming quality to 480p during the 21-days lock-down period in India. This means that the highest streaming quality for any video on YouTube you will be watch on 480p by default. YouTube’s desktop app hasn’t seen any change so users can still stream videos above 480p on his desktop.
This is a move taken by the all of these companies to help reduce the load on Internet traffic. YouTube also announced that it will be reduce the video quality around the world.
